Keeping Art Human

That's not just a tagline. It's why Prongs exists.

The Problem

The AI writing landscape split into two camps. On one side, tools that generate content for you — churning out blog posts, marketing copy, even novels with a prompt. On the other, traditional writing software that ignored AI entirely.

Neither camp served the writer who wants to use AI as a tool, not a replacement. The novelist who wants help tracking characters across 80,000 words. The screenwriter who wants a pacing check without handing their script to a chatbot. The poet who wants to explore directions without losing control of their voice.

Our Approach

Prongs was built on a simple belief: AI should manage the creative process, not replace it.

Our AI assistant reads your manuscript, knows your characters, understands your story structure — and uses all of that context to help you manage the work of writing. It summarizes, checks for consistency, suggests directions, and organizes research. But it never puts words in your mouth. And unlike every competitor, we guarantee your data is never used for AI model training.

We combined this with ideas from software engineering — version control, branching, diffs, code review — and translated them for writers. Because a novelist exploring an alternate ending faces the same fundamental challenge as a developer testing a new feature: how do you experiment safely? No other writing tool has brought these capabilities to creative writing. Not Scrivener, not Dabble, not Novlr, not Google Docs. Prongs is the first.

Privacy as a Feature

We chose Google Vertex AI deliberately. Not because it's the cheapest or the trendiest, but because it offers a contractual guarantee that your data is never used for model training.

Your unpublished manuscript is intellectual property. It deserves the same protection as any trade secret. We don't read your work, we don't analyze it, we don't use it to train anything. It's yours.

What "Keeping Art Human" Means

It means the human writes the story. The AI helps manage the complexity. The tools get out of the way. The creative voice — the thing that makes your writing uniquely yours — is never delegated to a machine.

That's the future of creative work we're building toward. Not AI replacing artists, but AI giving artists superpowers to manage the increasingly complex creative process while keeping the art fundamentally, unmistakably human.

What We Stand For

Human Creativity First

AI is a tool, not an author. We build features that amplify your creative capabilities without replacing your creative decisions.

Privacy Without Compromise

Your work is never used for training. Your data never leaves Google's infrastructure. This isn't a setting — it's how the product is built.

Tools, Not Bloat

Every feature earns its place. We'd rather have five tools writers actually use than fifty they have to wade through. Simplicity is a feature.
